MBABANE- Home is where the heart is. Former Mbombela United striker, Mfan’fikile ‘Fash’ Ndzimandze, has re-united with his team, Mbabane Highlanders. The player, who is also a former Moneni Pirates forward, started training with the ‘Bull’ yesterday at Ezulwini Sports Ground.

His return was confirmed by Chairman of the Board of Directors at Highlanders Zweli Jele, who said the player was contracted to the team. “He is contracted to us. He reported that he’s back from the loan and like all our players, we are happy to have him back. We value all our players,” Jele said.

South Africa-born mentor Mlungisi ‘Professor’ Ngubane, who steered the ‘Bull’ to the top five last season, also confirmed that the player is training with Highlanders. “We are ready to give him a chance but he must prove himself. We know what he is capable of when he is on top of his game,” Ngubane said. Ndzimandze said he was happy to be back home. “This is like my second home, I am happy to be back here. I was welcomed with warm hands and I am looking forward to a good season with the team,” Ndzimandze said.

‘Fash’, as Ndzimandze is widely known, left Highlanders for Mbombela in January but returned after the latter allegedly terminated his six-month loan deal in May due to alleged misconduct. United is the same team that has signed former Mbabane Swallows duo in Felix Baderhost, Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza and Banele Ndzabandzaba from Matsapha United.

‘Fash’ is not the only player who has left Highlanders and returned. Other players who left the ‘Bull’s kraal but later returned are Jimoh Moses, Vusumuzi Zungu, Sabelo ‘Sawa’ Gamedze to mention just a few. The trio left for Matsapha United in 2016 and returned to the club this year. They were part of the team which had a pre-season training in South Africa in June. They also participated in the annual Eswatini Telecom Charity Cup three weeks ago.
