FNB’S E11 500 TO ALL STARS LADIES WOMEN TOURNAMENT

MBABANE - All is set for the third edition of the All Star Ladies Women Soccer Tournament.

The tournament, which is billed for Saturday at Sifundzani High School, is sponsored to a tune of E11 500 by First National Bank. Announcing the package during the launch at Happy Valley Hotel yesterday night, the tournament PRO, Lindokuhle Mthupha, thanked all the sponsors who have partnered with them. “We want to thank all our sponsors, especially First National Bank, Dixies International, Farai Foundation, NBC Swaziland, Ekhayakusekhaya and Sky World Travel and Tours for partnering with us.
“The tournament will be big and better this year. It will be held at Sifundzani High School and games will start at 8:30am. We will have aerobics session before the games,” Mthupha said. The PRO disclosed that they have been sponsored to a tune of E11 500 by FNB, while Sky World Travel and Tours sponsored the player of the series category.

“The champions will receive E4 000; runners-up to get E3 000 while third place finishes will pocket E2 000. The player of the series will not only get E750 but will also win a trip to Johannesburg, courtesy of Sky World Travel and Tours. The top goalscorer will be entitled to E500,” she said. Meanwhile, All Stars Ladies chairperson, Sharon Maziya, said the main target was networking and empowering each other as women. “This is not about football, its more than that, do not underestimate the power of networking. I want to encourage everyone to atleast have one new contact when the tournament ends. We are also to encourage the spirit of sisterhood among the corporate ladies. This will be also a session where we will empower each other as women and girls,” Maziya said.

There are seven teams that have confirmed participation in the tournament. These are Standard Bank, Swazi Bank, RSSC and EPTC, who are all in group A while Lidwala, All Star Ladies and FNB are in group B. The teams will play in a round robin system.
The best two teams in each group will advance to the next stage, which will be in a knock-out format.
