MANZINI – Masundwini Royal Swallows are through to the country’s football third-tier after winning the OK Foods-sponsored Kwaluseni Promotion League.

The side did not only get a ticket to campaign in the Manzini Super League in the new campaign, but got a share of E3 500 from a E40 000 purse, which is a sponsorship for three tournaments that are played under the OK Foods banner.

They were presented with their prizes that included trophies and medals by the sponsor’s Managing Director Lincoln Motsa at the OK Foods premises in Ngwane Park in Manzini on Saturday.
Also getting their prizes were Kwaluseni United, who become E5 000 richer after winning a knockout tournament. Lozitha Spurs, on the other hand, conquered the Kwaluseni First Division League (third division) to pocket E3 000.

Motsa said the company came on board about four years ago in order to give back to the community and to keep the players away from illicit practices.
“The teams are playing in places, where we have six stores.

“We’re no longer worried about break-ins, as the youth is kept on the field of play for prolonged periods,” said Motsa.
The sponsor noted competition among the teams, promising continued support.
Team representatives could also not miss out during the presentation, while the Manzini Regional Football Association (MRFA) delegation was led by Secretary Njabulo Mabuza during the festivities.
