MBABANE – The High Court cleared him to Mbabane Swallows last week and that did not change even yesterday.

The Nigerian striker, Aladeon Kola, who made his Swallows’ debut last Friday in Tunisia against Etoile Du Sahel, is all clear to play in Sunday’s Eswatini Telecom Charity Cup.

His club last season, Manzini Wanderers, had approached the High Court to seek clarity, a case that was scheduled for 9:30am yesterday.
However, things did not go their way as Judge Doris Shabalala did not even see both Swallows and Wanderers’ legal representatives.
Instead, the lawyers, TZD Sports Management Director Zakhele Dlamini for Swallows, and Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli who were clear the verdict would not change yesterday, had to consult with their clients on a way forward.

“Kola is our player and will play on Sunday. He has a running contract with us for three months which doesn’t anywhere say he’ll only participate in CAF games. Every player who is contracted to us for a certain period is eligible to play,” said Swallows’ General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane after their lawyer had reported back to them.

It was also established that a suggestion that it would be a good ‘football decision’ were discussed by the lawyers which would require Swallows not to use the player in the tournament. Called for comment, Dlamini referred questions to the player’s team.
“I don’t speak for Swallows but I am their lawyer. I did my mandate at the High Court and now they will speak for themselves,” he said.
His counterpart, Mdluli, said if that was the position Swallows had taken, he could only report back to his clients.

“If that is the position, it’s fine. We will wait for the High Court’s written verdict,” he said before referring further questions to Wanderers CEO Pat Mahlalela.
Mahlalela, however, said a Swallows’ decision to play him so they could not comment on the issue. He said he had ‘nothing concrete’ yet on the decision of the court nor does he have information from the directors.
