MBABANE – The defence of Mbabane Swallows remains just as compact for now.

At least the coach, Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati, will have less of a headache at the rear-guard in Tunisia on Friday against Étoile du Sahel as his defence has not changed from the experienced lot. Overlapping left wing back Sanele Mkhweli, who is set to join South Africa’s National First Division (NFD) League side TS Sporting, is still free to play in the TOTAL CAF Champions League campaign.

This means Vilakati will have him, Sifiso Mabila, Mandla Palma and Stanley Umukoro who have all played from day one of the campaign. Mkhweli had reportedly been cleared to TS Sporting along with his former teammates Felix Badenhorst and Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza, who joined NFD’s Mbombela United.

“Mkhweli is here as you can see and we will see when he goes,” responded Vilakati when questioned on his presence at Sigwaca House during the farewell bidding event yesterday.

However, it was gathered that Mkhweli was expected to join his new suitors after the CAF campaign. Missing was the duo of Felix and ‘Nkomishi’, who immediately joined Mbombela United last Saturday.

“It’s only Richard Sewu who we’ll meet in Johannesburg as he had some things to sort out while Papi’s papers were not yet ready for him to be part of us,” he explained when questioned about Xolani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze, who was conspicuously missing.
Sikhondze is expected to join the ‘Birds’ from Mbabane Citizens.
