MBABANE – Debate mastermind Bhutiza Ginindza has won an all-catered for trip to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia courtesy of FISU.

The 24-year old Ngwane College first year student leaves this morning through the King Mswati III International Airport via Johannesburg’s OR Tambo and Turkey en-route to Kazan, Russia- host city of the biggest football showpiece. FISU is an acronym of the Federation International Sports University.
Ginindza will meet winners from different countries across the globe and will be volunteers at the World Cup; including cleaning dressing rooms and ensuring ball boys are available for matches among other things while mingling with the biggest names in football.

The former Nhlangano Central High student survived four gruelling interviews to finally win the prize. FISU collaborated with the Swaziland University and Colleges Sports Association wherein the best public speaker, chosen from a recent debate competition was chosen for the trip.

Unlike in previous years where the best athletes were chosen for such trips, SUCSA this time was looking for a critical thinker and someone who is proficient in English. Ngwane College won the SUCSA debate competition.
Now, the Shiselweni-born stand a chance of winning a fully sponsored scholarship to study languages and culture with United Kingdom’s Cambridge University. The competition promotes inter exchange of cultural morals and creating unity among sports and tertiary people. Ginindza will return on June 28 and will watch a few World Cup matches while in Russia.

“One particular fixture that I’m looking forward to is the Spain game Portugal game,” he said.
Ginindza also sent his great appreciation to his church, International Tebernacle Ministries under Reverend Muntu Dlamini for financial support. The Ngwane College student is also insured for up to US$300 (about E3 750) for medical expenses.
Besides being a motivational speaker, Ginindza has previously done voluntary work for World Vision and Gender Base Violence among other non-governmental organisations.
