MANZINI - A month later, the police have made a breakthrough and arrested the man who is alleged to have kidnapped a popular traditional healer of foreign origin.

The accused person, who is a well-known socialite and former Manzini Wanderers player, was apprehended by the police while he was at his home in Mvutjini near Ezulwini, yesterday morning.

The police have been searching for the accused who had been allegedly on the run before his arrest. He is alleged to have kidnapped the traditional healer while he was at his homestead, situated in the outskirts of Ngwane Park, last month.

The traditional healer, *Kwaku, who is allegedly attached to one of the reputable soccer teams in the country, was kidnapped for hours and severely assaulted on the weekend of early May, however, the accused has not been charged with the assault offence.
Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Khulani Mamba, confirmed that the popular socialite had been arrested and would make a court appearance this morning at the magistrates court.

Previously, it was gathered that the inyanga was attacked by four unknown men, who allegedly grabbed and dragged him out of his house. This was after they had allegedly entered his house, which he had forgotten to lock at the time.
The inyanga was later allegedly bundled into a Mazda sedan before he was taken to a forest near Gundvwini, where he was tied to a tree and thoroughly assaulted with open hands, kicks and fists by the suspects.

The incident is alleged to have occurred while the soccer match, the SwaziBank Cup final pitting Young Buffaloes and Manzini Wanderers, was ongoing at Somhlolo National Stadium on May 6.
Well-placed sources revealed that before the incident, Kwaku was first contacted by well-known soccer officials on that weekend while at his homestead, allegedly requesting a favour in the form of muti.
