MANZINI –A dominant first half display by Ngwane High School (formerly Ngwane Park High)  at the Mavuso Sports Centre yesterday was enough to dispatch Zamani High by 3-2 in the semi-finals of the Manzini branch school ball games.

Victory for Ngwane meant they qualified for the finals where they will meet Mkhondvo High School.
Ngwane showed their intentions early as they put their opponents under pressure for much of the opening stages.

They scored their first goal of the game in the 17th minute through Siphesihle Nsimbini who latched on a long ball from the back to beat the keeper with a low shot into the far corner.

Register

The striker was back again in the 26th minute to register his second goal after a mix up in the box that saw Zamani’s goal-keeper Norman Vilakati come out of his line to try to clear the danger without success.

There was no immediate response from Zamani High as the Ngwane strikers ran behind their defence with ease but wasted chances.
However, they duly found a third goal on the half hour mark as Phiwokuhle Shabangu’s defence splitting pass found Innocent Ndzinisa unmarked on the left flank to give his team a comfortable 3-0 cushion heading into the break.

Ngwane’s decision to protect their lead in the second half almost backfired as the opposition scored two late goals through Nkululeko Vilakati and Mndeni Vilakati.

However, it was already too late for Zamani to salvage anything from the game as their opponents celebrated a deserved passage into the finals. After having eliminated favourites Hillside High School in the previously round, Ngwane High look like a team good enough to challenge for the Copa Coca-Cola championship this year.
