GUGU BREAKS FEMALE RECORD IN PARKRUN

MBABANE – Swazi Slojos’ Gugu Mthembu has set a new female record in the Mbabane Parkrun.


This was after Mthembu finished the 51th edition in just 20:02 minutes. She has not only managed to beat her personal best time of 22:47 minutes but has managed to set a new record for the weekly five kilometres timed run/jog.


This is her ninth consecutive win in the race.
Coming second in this category was Cynthia Parry on 31:09 minutes while Margie Jenkins completed the top three bracket on 32:30 minutes.


The overall winner of the race was none-other than 22 times winner Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force (USDF) athlete Nkululeko Gama who finished the race in 15:37 minutes.
He is also the record holder with 14:56 minutes.
