LOBAMBA - “Bring more action for our football ladies teams”

.
Mbabane Swallows mentor, Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati said these words after Sitsebe’s exit from the AFCON Cup Qualifiers on Tuesday afternoon. Sitsebe lost the second leg preliminary clash 2-1 and crashed out on 3-1 aggregate, missing out on the chance to play South Africa’s highly rated Banyana Banyana in first round. They had lost 1-0 in away first leg.

Vilakati was among the few who witnessed the match between Swaziland and Lesotho.
“They lost because they made mistakes due to the away loss. They were rushing in front of goal otherwise with increased activity and teams in women football, the coaches would easily have a large pool to pick from and players would be used to competition,” he observed.
He said with more activity, time and support, the technical bench and the team would be a force to be reckoned with.

Also picking positives from the squad’s performance was Manzini Sundowns Academy coach Penuel Malinga.
“They can compete effectively with more activity in the women football front. I’m glad that the forwards looked hungry and sharp and getting that goal was proof we can actually have a strong team,” he said.
He said this was an achievement to pick up from and grow as a country in international women football competitions.
