MBABANE – One of Green Mamba’s record signings Phinda ‘Phindrix’ Dlamini, has been put on ice.

The former Swazi international is in trouble following reports of alleged misconduct at training on Sunday. It was reliably gathered that the veteran forward behaved strangely on the day, irking the technical bench led by temperamental mentor Caleb Ngwenya.

A decision to suspend the player pending an investigation into his alleged misconduct, as a result, was taken on the day.
Team CEO Thami Phakathi could only confirm that there were unresolved issues with the player, but could not divulge further information.

“Yes the player has been sidelined for alleged misconduct.  As it is an internal matter, structures in the team will investigate the allegations and then we will take it from there,” he said briefly.
Other well-informed sources had said the player, who has hardly featured for Green Mamba in the current campaign, had not been training for over two weeks when he showed up for training on the day of the incident.

fumed

Ngwenya had fumed when earlier sought for comment on the issue, demanding that the publication should reveal the source of the information. When told that journalists were not allowed to divulge sources of information, he kept spitting fire, saying internal matters were not discussed with the media.

Several attempts to get the player’s comments were fruitless at the time of compiling this report, as his phone was apparently switched off.
‘Phindrix’ joined Green Mamba from Red Lions for a staggering E180 000  in 2015. The former Sihlangu forward has been blowing hot and cold since his switch to the side due to injuries. At the end of the 2015/16 campaign, the 33-year-old was a joint top goalscorer with then Mbabane Highlanders forward Lungelo Tsabedze (now with Royal Leopard) and Mbabane Swallows’ Sandile Hlatshwako. The trio scored 11 goals apiece.

He starred at South African soccer side Jomo Cosmos about eight years ago. He shot to fame back in 2009 when he was poached by South Africa’s SuperSport United when he was playing for a local side styled Zwicle FC.
