FOLLOW LEADERS IN SPORTS – PM

MBABANE – Prime Minister Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini has urged the nation to take a leaf from Their Majesties when it comes to sports.


He said the country’s leaders showed their love for sport by forming the Ministry of Sports and also taking part in sporting events. He said sports is life and it is important that every person does take part in sports.
“His Majesty King Mswati III and Indlovukazi have shown that they encourage the country to take part in sports. Before there was the ministry, sports where under the Ministry of Home Affairs. We are happy that the Ministry was working hard in promoting sports in the country,” he said.


He said His Majesty King Mswati III led by example when he participated in the aerobics during the Imbube Marathon late last year where he was joined by Inkhosikati LaMotsa. His Majesty was engaged in about one-hour aerobics session at Somhlolo National Stadium where he came tops.


Dlamini then thanked the business community for supporting sports. He gave gratitude to Inyatsi construction for their lead in sponsoring sports in the country. He urged other companies, including parastatals, to follow suit. Government increased the 2018/ 19 sports budget to E12 million which was a well received by people in the sports fraternity.
