LOBAMBA – Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini has noted that Mbabane Swallows are now a force to be reckoned with.

Reacting to the capital city giants’ 2-1 win over Royal Leopard in the Ingwenyama Cup at Somhlolo National Stadium yesterday, the premier noted that Swallows’ experience of playing in Africa came in handy yesterday. The prime minister was represented by his deputy, Paul Dlamini. “Swallows are becoming stronger, and they are soaring higher as they now play in Africa. “We’re humbled by the presence of Their Majesties. The nation came in numbers,” he said.
For Leopard, the PM noted they also came to the party, encouraging them not to despair following the setback.

The DPM further highlighted that culture and football blended beautifully on the day. Ingwenyama Cup Committee Chairman Prince Hlangabeza, on the other hand, was all smiles on the success of the festivities, highlighting that the country’s uniqueness was showcased to the rest of the world through the live broadcast of the game by SuperSport. “We thank the King. “The spectators did not only come in numbers, but kept the games violence-free. The respect is commendable,” said the prince. Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Crusier’ Ngcamphalala, who was also among the guests witnessing the festivities, dubbed them a tremendous success.
