MBABANE – Sponsorship for this year’s instalment of the Swaziland Royal Insurance Corporation (SRIC) Business League has shot up to a whopping E150 000.

This is an increment of E20 000 as compared to the past year. SRIC General Manager Zama Ngcobo, first announced that SRIC was renewing the Business League sponsorship for three years before revealing the revised purse for the new year at Royal Swazi Spa Golf Course in Ezulwini on Wednesday.

On top of the lucrative sponsorship, Ngcobo announced that SRIC would be sponsoring a Caddies tournament to be played at the Mbabane Golf Course. The amount of this sponsorship is E10 000.

“There is a need for the golf sporting fraternity to be inclusive. It has to accommodate such women, junior golfers and the very same caddies that the golfers rely on for a whole lot of things,” said Ngcobo.
It was stressed during the festivities that golf had become more than just a gentleman’s game for SRIC, as it was now a way of life.
Meanwhile, action continued in the March leg of the tournament on the day. The battle for the top spot intensifies, as about a half a dozen teams are keeping the top spot within touching distance.
