MBABANE – Everything happens for a reason. Experienced Mbabane Swallows midfielder Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko believes losing to Lesotho’s Bantu F.C was a wake-up call.

The ‘Birds’ lost 3-1 at Somhlolo National Stadium to the Lesotho side. However, they advanced to the next round as they managed to beat Bantu F.C 4-2 in their own backyard.

The ‘Birds’ will cross swords with Zanaco of Zambia on Saturday in the second leg of the CAF  Champions League at Somhlolo National Stadium. Kick-off time is 3pm.

“It was a wake-up call. We have learnt that no matter how we have played in the away game, we must not allow complacency to creep in. We thought we were done with Bantu and they came back strong and they almost booted us out of the tournament. It was a learning curve for us, we need to continue where we left off in Zambia with Zanaco,” Nhleko said.

The former SA Black Leopards player said he was optimistic ahead of their game against Zanaco on Saturday.
“If we managed to beat them in their own backyard, I strongly believe we can beat them here at home.
“They are a good team and we need to respect them if we want to advance to the next stage,” he said.

The assistant skipper calmed Mbabane Swallows fans for the team’s loss against Green Mamba in the SwaziBank Cup.
“It was hard to swallow those results because we wanted to win the SwaziBank too just like the other tournaments. However, the loss was a blessing in disguise as we will have a chance to focus on the CAF Champions League,” Nhleko said.
