MBABANE – The Luphohlo Dam Recreational Park will once again play host to the exciting and challenging bi/ triathlon this Sunday.

It is an event that combines three sporting codes being swimming (500m), running (5km) and cycling all at once – you cannot win without going through all these stages. Simply put, each individual goes through his own relay of the events.
The Swaziland National Swimming Association (SNSA) and Adventure Sport are co-hosts of this annual event. SNSA President Berger Nxumalo announced the Bi/Triathlon at the end of the Nedbank Swimming National Championships held over the past weekend at Sifundzani Primary School.

compete

Juniors who are under-14 years will only compete in 500m swimming and 3km running while seniors over the age of 15 years will compete in 800m swimming and 5km running.
Competitors are urged to provide their own bicycles and helmets have to be worn. The cycling race will use both dirt and tarred road.

“Registration starts at 8:30am and each person pays E120 fee. The event will start at 10am,” Nxumalo said.
The SNSA has been so much active recently as this is their season. The Bi/ Triathlon is open to all athletes.
