‘DOWNS TAKE LEAD IN UNDER-17 LEAGUE

MANZINI – For the first time since the Esibayeni Lodge Under-17 League season started, Manzini Sundowns are at the summit.


They dislodged rookies Matsapha United after the past weekend’s round games on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Sundowns beat Tambuti 2-0 to go top as Matsapha slumped to a 1-all draw with two-time champions Young Buffaloes.


The result saw Matsapha drop to third and two points behind the leaders and level with second-placed Buffaloes. Down the table, things are not looking any good for Manzini Wanderers who were close to winning it last season but lost it on the last day to Buffaloes. The hub side was humiliated 3-1 by Red Lions.


Wanderers are currently winless along with basement side Midas City on just one and zero points respectively. Swallows on the other hand managed to win 5-2 against Malanti Chiefs and went up to the fifth spot on the table. The league
