A ‘JOSHUA’ TO TAKE OVER FROM ‘MOSES’ GAMEDZE!

MBABANE – “After Gamedze the Moses, will emerge a Joshua to lead Mbabane Swallows.”

This is what the red and white glamour giants’ legends said to the current golden generation of players, as they grapple with the sudden demise of club boss Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze.

The former Swallows players who included; Nkululeko ‘Hambanaye’ Dlamini, Cosmo ‘Wall of Death’ Mthethwa, Enerst ‘Hurrah’ Ntshangase, Bavukile ‘Hitman’ Mabuza, Jacinto Simeone, Alex ‘Ayezamanzi’ Mamba, Bright ‘Maradona’ Zondo, had gone to pass their condolences to the Gamedze family at the deceased’s Dalriach homestead in Mbabane yesterday. They were accompanied by Mbabane Highlanders duo of Musa Masuku and Charles ‘Ace’ Jele.

Speaking on their behalf was ‘Hambanaye’, who said just like the Biblical story of the Israelites, who were given Joshua by God, to succeed Moses when the former was taken away just before the crossover to the Promised Land, the Swallows players should not panic

“As his former teammates at Swallows, we are still shocked at his painful demise. We pass our condolences to his family, friends, relatives and the Mbabane Swallows family for such a great loss,” he said. Dlamini said the former players always looked up to Gamedze for his success in both football and business. He said his success created a belief among soccer players that you can become anything to be successful.

“Gamedze always stressed to the current crop of players to always think for their lives beyond their football career,” he said. He said the lesson they have learnt from everything is that the fear of God is what everyone should fix his or her eyes on.
To the current crop of players; the legends implored them to keep the legacy they have created going forward.
