MBABANE – Kaizer Chiefs Manager Bobby Motaung will lead a four-member delegation for the memorial service of PLS Chairman Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze.

The delegation will comprise representatives for both Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. And for the Buccaneers, Administration Manager Floyd Mbele will surely be part of the people who will be coming to honour the fallen football legend, whose funeral will be held at KaLanga on Sunday.

The event will be preceded by a memorial service on Saturday at Prince of Wales Sports Ground.
Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala confirmed the arrival of the delegation from the two teams who featured in the 2015 King’s Super Cup that was won by Victor Gamedze’s all conquering Mbabane Swallows.

“I can confirm that a four- member delegation from Chiefs and Pirates is coming and will comprise Bobby Motaung and Floyd Mbele. I am doing the bookings for their accommodation right now,” the minister said.

He further said the team will be here for the memorial service and leave thereafter because their teams will be playing the following day.
“They may then be represented in the funeral though, as we are still talking to Pirates Chairman Irvin Khoza about the matter,” Ngcamphalala said.

He said the delegation will then convene a press conference tomorrow afternoon upon arrival at the hotel, to deliver their message of condolences from their respective clubs.
Mbele confirmed that he will be here tomorrow for the Saturday event.
