FANS VOTING FOR CAF PLAYER OF THE YEAR AND AFRICA’S XI

MBABANE – For the first time, football fans and the general public will vote for the Africa’s Finest XI and Player of the Year.


CAF is yet to release the players to be voted for in the Africa XI only then will it be clear if Mbabane Swallows recuperating striker Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa does make it to the top 20 players to be voted for. The voting exercise started on Christmas eve and closes January 2, 2018.


Voting for Africa’s Finest XI is done via the CAF facebook page based on a 3-4-3 tactical formation. Voting will be done for specialized positions from . The nominated players were decided based on the points accrued from the first phase of the voting process and they are part of the 30 players that were going for the Africa’s best player.


To vote for the best players, one has to open the facebook account and go to CAF facebook page where the names of the players for each position are unveiled. To vote you click the emoji placed against that players you are voting for.


For the African Player of the Year, the public can vote via the CAF website for their preferred choice among the top three contenders, Mohamed Salah (Egypt and Liverpool), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon and Borussia Dortmund) and Sadio Mane (Senegal and Liverpool).


Details of the votes will be made public at the Aiteo CAF Awards Gala 2017 on Thursday, January 4, 2018 in Accra, Ghana.
Mbabane Swallows, who were nominated in the best team category, were left out when the top three clubs were announced last week.
