MBABANE – A Ladies European Tour card is now within touching distance for ace female golfer Nobuhle Dlamini.

The Lobamba-born golfer posted an 11-under-par 227 after the final round of pre-qualifiers at Palm Golf Ourika in Marrakech, Morroco last Saturday to rank second. She is through to the final round to be played from Saturday until the next three days.
The 25-year-old, who is eyeing a return to Europe’s flagship golf Tour events following a notable absence in the past year, said she was looking forward to the decider.

“I had a good week. I’m pleased with my final score.
“I’m looking forward to the final stage next week,” she said.
There were over 60 golfers taking part in the event and the top 36 and ties progressed to the final stage of the qualifiers.

The Qualifying School in Morocco is held over two stages; pre-qualifying and final qualifying. According to information sourced from the Ladies European Tour (LET) website, competitors enter the qualifying school each year, all aspiring for a Ladies European Tour card, which is awarded to the top 25 competitors after the final stage.

Dlamini is still required to endure intense pressure to realise her goals.
The top five players after the final round will earn category 5b and those finishing in positions six to 25 after stage two will earn Category 8a membership for the 2018 LET season.

Other categories are said to be available for players who do not finish within the top 25, enabling them to receive a Ladies European Tour Card, but limited opportunities to gain a place in fields upon entry.
