MANZINI – Mohammed Sabella scored a brace to send Mahlalini packing in the Ingwenyama Cup last night.

His Vovovo F.C eventually won the tie 4-1 with another former Mbabane Highlanders forward Sibusiso Thwala and Manqoba Mavimbela completing the rout. Mahlalini were the first casualties to exit.

Vovovo showed their prowess from the onset making their first attempt at goal came within two minutes of kick off. Three minutes later Sabella opened the score board with a headed strike from a well weighted cross from Njabulo Magagula.
The Musa Mamba-led side continued to dominate and were 2-0 up  four minutes before the recess as Sabella completed his brace with another fine header from another cross from Magagula.

The second half saw Mahlalini rising to the occasion as they gained confident when holding the ball. Some free scoring chances came their way but they failed to convert them. Mahlalini coach Zwakele Simelane made some changes in the hour mark as he introduced Makhosanele Sibandze for Phila Dlamini. Luck struck for Vovovo when unmarked Sibusiso Thwala was left to control and shot with only three minutes from the hour mark.

Vovovo goalkeeper Machawe Dlamini failed to handle a simple shot from Sanele Mabuza and Mzwandile Bhembe scored with ease. Vovovo then rounded off the game with Manqoba Mavimbela well taken shot to the far corner.
