MBABANE – The Singapore-bound national netball squad is confident of leaving a mark in the Mission Foods Nations Cup.

The country’s national outfit will compete with Malaysia, Ireland, Cook Islands and hosts, Singapore, in the tournament that will run between tomorrow and next Saturday.

Before departure at the Swaziland Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (SOCGA) offices in Mbabane on Thursday, Coach Thobile Nzama-Dlamini, lamented the sketchy preparations, but expressed hope that the experience of competing in the African Championships in 2015 would come in handy.

“We boast an experienced squad that won a continental bronze medal in 2015.

“We’re a closed book to the teams, so this could be an advantage. It’s a perfect platform for the players to shine,” said Nzama-Dlamini.
The players on the other hand, unanimously said they were not shaken to face the overseas teams.

Swaziland got an invitation to the tournament after a spirited display in the African Championship in Botswana in June 2015.
The team is expected to arrive in Singapore today.
