Steels....................................................57
Superstars...........................................45

MANZINI – You may call it an on the edge of a seat, or a crackerjack!

That is what better describes the first semi-final of the Men’s Elite Basketball Tournament pitting Manzini giants Steels and Superstars, which ended with the latter losing 45-57.
Interestingly, the defending champions; Superstars dominated for the first two quarters only to succumb to pressure in the 3rd and 4th quarter. This means that Steels have not only denied Superstars of defending the champion but stand a chance of been crowned the champions. They will face Mbabane Jazz in the finals, who beat Mbabane Raptors 61-43.

Also booking their spot into National Women finals are Phoenix Alumi who cruised to a 72-12 victory over hapless Enjabulwini Griffins. They will face Super Ladies in the finals who beat Lady Jazz 67-47.
The game which was played at Mavuso Sports Emporium Centre on Saturday started on a high note with the visitors dominating the opening quarter with Sakhino Mabuza displaying acrobatics skills scoring vital three pointers.
By the end of the first quarter the scoreboard reflected 11-4 in favour of the defending champions.

In the second set they continued where they left off but this time around they were separated by two points, the scoreline read 24-22.
The Andile Thwala inspired side turned the tables in the third quarter as they took the lead proving rather too good for the Size Nxumalo coached side. By this quarter they were leading by 42-35 and finally hitting the last nail on the coffin as they sent Superstars packing out of the play-off in the deciding quarter.
