MBABANE – It was double jeopardy for Mbabane Highlanders over the weekend as two of their players were involved in different road accidents.

The duo of Mlamuli ‘Mlaba’ Nkambule and Mfanufikile ‘Fash’ Ndzimandze survived the accidents as they did not sustain serious injuries. First it was the former Manzini Sundowns midfielder ‘Mlaba’  who lost control of the vehicle he was driving before it crashed.
The accident happened on Saturday afternoon around Lobamba.

Striker Mfanfikile ‘Fash’ Ndzimandze survived a crash at Ludzeludze after the car he was in crashed into a bus stop shelter bringing down a section of the structure. He is reported to have also survived the accident, escaping unhurt.
The accident happened just when the club is preparing for their tough clash against Royal Leopard in the MTN Premier League to be played tomorrow at Somhlolo National Stadium, kick-off is at 8:30pm.
Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Khulani Mamba confirmed that Nkambule was involved in an accident on Saturday around Lobamba and he was charged with negligent driving. Nkambule survived the accident as he was not admitted to a clinic or hospital.

“A man, identified as Mlamuli Nkambule, was charged with negligent driving after he lost control of the car around Lobamba.

About the incident that happened at Ludzeludze, what I know is that the driver is still at large and he had not been identified,” said Mamba.
Mamba said the occupants of the car that was involved in the accident at Ludzeludze have not yet been identified as the driver escaped after the crash.

Highlanders new Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mphumelelo Mnisi said the players trained with the rest of the team yesterday preparing for the Leopard clash.
“I wouldn’t like to comment about the accidents, maybe after our game tomorrow. Our focus is on the league game against Leopard and during training session, the players were working hard and looking ready to play,” he said.
