LOBAMBA – Six games, zero points; that is Mbabane City’s story so far this campaign.

A Melusi Mkhwanazi header on the quarter hour mark continued to plunge City at the bottom of the MTN log standings as Manzini Sundowns recorded their second win of the season since the emphatic 4-0 victory over Red Lions in the opening game of the campaign.

It will seem City’s off the field battles with the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) are rubbing down to the players. Fourteen teams or not, City are rock bottom.
Sundowns coach Ernest Mavuso was heard saying to his City counterpart Artwell Dludlu, “You have a team”.

That is true but City lack the firepower needed to survive at this stage and it was visible under floodlights here at Somhlolo National City.
The Orange was always going to struggle after losing not only their coach of over a decade Caleb Ngwenya, but also eight players to rival clubs.

Had Sundowns been clinical, it was going to be an avalanche of goals but Sandumuzi Zwane and Phumlani Ngwenya had forgotten their scoring boots at their Manzini Club base.
Temporarily, pending the full batch of MTN mid week matches, Sundowns move up the ladder to seventh place with eight points.
