MBABANE – Darren ‘Dazza’ Christie is a Mbabane Swallows player - finish n’ klaar!

This follows last night ruling by the Players Status Committee headed by former Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) Chairman Sipho Matse and made up of members Johannes ‘Ace’ Siboza, Mpumelelo Mabuza and Thulani Mavuso.

The player had taken Swallows to the Player’s Status Committee where he was seeking the intervention of the committee to help him to be a free agent. However, according to the verdict that was issued last night at Sigwaca House, it favoured the red and white ensemble.
Mbabane Swallows General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane confirmed that the player belonged to them.

“We want to make this clear to everyone, this is not a victory to us, the player is ours. He was contracted to us until 2018 as the contract stipulates. We also want to state it categorically clear that any team that is interested in the player can approach us, we are ready to talk to them,” Zwane said.

He further said, they cannot stand in  the player’s way, especially if he wanted to leave the team.
“Look ‘Dazza’ is a good player any team would love to have but certain procedures have to be followed in transferring a player. If he does not join any team we would have loved to extend his contract until 2020 because the technical bench had hinted that he could beef up the squad as he is a quality player,” Zwane said.

‘Dazza’s was represented by former PLS CEO Zakhele Dlamini in the matter. Dlamini also confirmed the verdict in an interview last night. The verdict states that the applicant has a valid contract with the respondent (Swallows) until the end of the 2017//18 season.
