MATSAPHA – Esibayeni Lodge has renewed their marriage with PLS Under-17. This is after they pumped in E200 000 for the 2017/18 season. The sponsorship renewal was done at the lodge’s premises in Matsapha yesterday.

The lodge has been sponsoring the junior league for the past two seasons, with the first instalment at E150 000 and the second edition at E200 000.
Presenting the E200 000 cheque was Esibayeni Managing Director Representative, Yolanda Oswin. The latter is the daughter of Desmond Oswin.

“We are very much committed to supporting the Under-17 league because of the passion, ambition and determination showed by the boys. These are tomorrow’s stars who we believe play a pivotal role in developing football in the country,” she said.
The PLS chairman, who was represented by the organisation’s Executive Committee member Sicelo Mkhonta applauded Esibayeni Lodge for their continued support.

“We want to thank Esibayeni for their commitment for the past two years. This is a good investment because some of these players are promoted to the senior teams. We also want to thank the coaches who are responsible for grooming these youngsters to be better footballers. We urge companies to sponsor our Under-13 and 15 as they are currently without sponsors,” Mkhonta said.

Meanwhile, FA CEO Frederick Mngometulu highlighted the importance of investing in junior leagues.
“We want to commend Esibayeni for continually support this league. This is the future of the national team, this is where talent is discovered and nurtured and mastered for elite football. This is the stage where Lionel Messi and Christian Ronaldo were discovered,” Mngometulu said.
