Royal Leopard.................0

NHLANGANO - A ‘trigger happy’ Mbabane Swallows Under-20s brushed aside listless Royal Leopard by 5-0 to begin their Swazi Telecom Charity Cup defence in style.

A brace by Desmond Mlambo, as well as strikes from Simphiwe Shabangu, Doctor Shabangu and Sunday Ngwenya in yesterday’s semi-final at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium in Nhlangano ensured the junior ‘Birds’ side booked a spot in Sunday’s final.

They will face the winner between Moneni Pirates and Mbabane Highlanders, who face off in the second semi-final at Somhlolo National Stadium on Wednesday. Kick-off is set for 2pm.
Despite parading most of the players who did duty in the previous campaign, the defending champions did not need to engage the second gear against the jittery opposition who eventually finished the game with 10 men.
Swallows coach Lwazi Simelane  sounded confident his troops would go all the way following a spirited display yesterday.

“We have done our homework but we can’t grow a swollen head.
“There are areas we still need to work on,” said Simelane.
Meanwhile, the Under-20 final will be the curtain-raiser for the decider of the main tournament on Sunday.
The purse in the past year was E120 000 while the champions pocketed E30 000.

The juniors tournament was launched in 2014 with a E150 000 package.
Meanwhile, entrance to Wednesday’s second semi-final is free.
