MBABANE – In the midst of the ‘bring back Madze’ chorus from a section of Sihlangu supporters, the FA has shown its great affection to under fire coach Pieter De Jongh.

FA President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa reiterated what he said on the issue when interviewed on national radio about the recent outcry among supporters over Sihlangu’s depreciating performance. He said the FA has its main responsibility of developing football in the country, and on top of that it also appoints and manages Sihlangu, which he said was the organisation’s special project.

“I have been asked about the concerns from the supporters about the performance of the team, and I say we are also not happy at the current showing. However, we also see that the supporters’ pain is a reflection of their affection for the team,” he said.
He said the past three years have been good for Sihlangu getting results, even though the team did not win any trophy except a bronze medal in the 2016 COSAFA Castle Cup.

“We have appointed a new coach and we have trust in him and the technical bench to improve the team. There is new management and the way we react to changes differs but we have got belief in the team. We are playing Zambia, a strong nation but we know we have quality.
