MANZINI – As the crisis deepened at troubled huB giants Manzini Wanderers, disgruntled supporters believe only Rev Percy Mngomezulu could save the club.

In a heated crisis meeting held at The George Hotel Conference room yesterday evening, over 50 supporters once again passed a vote of no confidence on the club directors comprising of Bheki Shongwe, Peter Mathaba and Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini who were all absent.

Dlamini was reported by Chairman of the Council of Elders Sipho Ntshalintshali to be overseas and the rest of the directors could not be ascertained where they were.
One speaker after another punched holes in the club directors, accusing them of holding onto power despite that the team was rapidly going down the drain.

They further alleged that the directors were the main reason the team was excluded from this year’s Swazi Telecom Charity Cup, for their relentless court case against the PLS and SPTC.
Ntshalintshali had a tough time controlling proceedings as one speaker after another fired a broadside salvo at the directors even though they were not atthe meeting.
A resolution was taken to give the team to Mngomezulu who the supporters said had been the financial pillar for the troubled hub giants.

“We are giving you two days to meet the directors and force them to resign and cancel the company they register,” one supporter said.
“The team should then be given to Mngomezulu because he has demonstrated his power as the only source of finance in the club,” another supporter said.
Ntshalintshali assured the supporters that he would meet the directors and inform them about the decision of the meeting. “I will also inform Mngomezulu of the decision taken by the meeting about him taking over the club, if he agrees then it will be fine, if he doesn’t I will come back to you to report so that you may see what to do,” he said.

The most vocal in the meeting was Majayivane who made it clear that the High Court instructed the club to sort its administration problems internally and that it was time, the directors heeded the call by the supporters to abdicate their positions.
Among the speakers was former Secretary Pat Mahlalela, who proposed that the directors should call an Annual General Meeting where they would explain among other things why the club missed out on the Charity Cup.
The club elders were also not spared by the fans who alleged that they were causing division in the club, hating other officials over the other.
