BIG TEAMS’ TRANSFER WARFARE

EZULWINI – As promised last week, Mbabane Highlanders have finally flexed their transfer muscle with the acquisition of five top players.

The ‘Black Bull’ yesterday confirmed the signing of their longtime targets Mfanufikile Fash Ndzimandze, Mlamuli ‘Mlaba’ Nkambule, Gabriel Goshen, Bongani ‘Chicken’ Sibandze and Mphikeleli ‘Rabo’ Dlamini.
However, the team fell short of signing highly sought after Moneni Pirates playmaker Bongani Ndzimandze who is being heavily linked with a move to Royal Leopard.

The fallen capital city giants began their preseason training amid much fanfare at their Ezulwini Sports Ground base with supporters flocking in like it was an official game to witness the team’s new signings. Moneni Pirates striker Mfan’fikile ‘Fash’ Ndzimandze, out of contract Manzini Sundowns midfielder Mlamuli ‘Mlaba’ Nkambule and former Tambuti and Mbabane Swallows anchorman Gabriel Goshen were among the new stars who watched training from the sidelines as they prepared for their unveiling.

Goshen, who leaves Swallows without even kicking a ball in an official game after a short-as-sneeze loan stint for the CAF Confederation Cup, has been given an extended break following the red and white giants’ ill-fated continental campaign and will only join the rest of his new teammates tomorrow.
Though Highlanders Public Relations Officer (PRO) Paul ‘Magidzeludzakeni’ Masilela did not want to confirm the trio’s signing, pending successful negotiations of their clearances, close sources revealed they have already put pen to paper after agreeing personal terms, netting between E20 000 and E25 000 in signing on fees.

Highlanders are also in a transfer tug-of-war for the services of enterprising Moneni Pirates midfielder Bongani Ndzimandze. Ndzimandze was not part of the contigent at Ezulwini yesterday and could possibly surface at Matsapha Police College when Royal Leopard starts their own pre-season preparations.

Leopard and Highlanders are also close to agreeing a loan deal for fringe players Mphikeleli ‘Rabo’ Dlamini and Bongani ‘Chicken’ Sibandze.
The Leopard duo is expected to start training with the ‘Black Bull’ anytime this week, immediately their transfers are finalised.

“We have good relations with Highlanders and they brought the request at the end of last season to have the two players but nothing has been finalised just yet. On the issue of Ndzimandze, I cannot comment much because he is a Pirates player and a dream signing for any team. Pre-season is a period of players’ movements but nothing concrete has been done,” said Leopard PRO Frank Hurube.
