CHESHIRE HOMES FUNDRAISING WALK RAKES IN OVER E200 000

MALOLOTJA – It was a walk to remember as over 1 000 people braved the cold weather on Sunday morning for the Cheshire Homes Annual Fundraising Walk.


The 22nd edition of the walk was held at Malolotja Game Reserve. Deputy Prime Minister Paul Dlamini, Ministers of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala, of Public Service Owen Nxumalo and of Commerce, Industry and Trade Jabulani ‘Buy Cash’ Mabuza joined the over 1 000 for the 15-kilometre walk for charity.


According to Cheshire Homes CEO Muzi Dlamini, 85 per cent of the attendance came from the 20 companies that participated while the 15 per cent were from families and individuals.
Companies paid E5 000 for 20 people while it was E120 for individuals. The attendants did not only partake in the walk but also in aerobics.


Speaking after the event Cheshire Homes CEO Dlamini said they were grateful to all the companies that made the walk a success.
“Firstly, I would like to thank the nation, companies, families and sporting groups and individuals who contributed by paying their participation fee, which accumulated to over E200 000. It has been 22 years since we started the walk and we are happy to note that it’s growing in terms of numbers and magnitude,” said the CEO.


“This is the biggest fundraising initiative which seeks to assist Cheshire to raise funds to support our daily operations which includes food, equipment, water, electricity.
