LOBAMBA – Young Buffaloes were just too good for Manzini Wanderers as they thrashed the latter to clinch the Women FA Cup.
This comes barely 14 hours after the clash was called off due to darkness. The game ended in a 2 all draw on Saturday.

The game was then rescheduled to yesterday at 10am. The finals however played under a protest with Wanderers sighting that it was not in the rules to play a game within 48 hours after it was called off. This was confirmed by team manager Sicelo Simelane.
The army side were just the better side and the result was the true reflection of the game as the Simephi Mamba led-charges were all over their opponent.

Buffaloes were geared up for success as early in the 14 minutes they pulled one home through the boot of Celiwe Nkmbule who unleashed a long strike that beat Wanderers goalkeeper Philile Mngomezulu between the poles.

Cebile Shongwe made it 2-0 four minutes later and the opponent could not create clear cut opportunities to level matters in the first stanza. After resumption the maroon and white ensemble came back strong but Buffaloes’ goalkeeper Sukuluhle Sibandze was made numerous saves to keep the score at 2-0.

Sibandze was forced into a beautiful save after Ngimphiwe Cele unleashed a volley just inches away from the box. In the hour mark Sibadze parried another goal-bound shot from Gcinile Zwane.

However the Simephi Mamba led-charges just six minutes before the final whistle caught the Weslians on a counter attack and It was Temakhonkhosi Mdzebele who ensured that the game was beyond the Weslians’ reach after scoring the third goal.
