LUDZIDZINI – His Majesty King Mswati III has urged Mbabane Swallows to make the nation proud by beating MC Alger.

The two sides will face each other tomorrow at Somhlolo National Stadium in a Total CAF Confederation Cup Group B match.
The King said this when he was briefing the media on his trip to Cancun, Mexico, where he attended the 2017 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction conference. After the press briefing, the media was given a chance to pose questions and Qhawe Khanya, the Managing Director (MD) of Channel Swazi Television Station, said he had discovered that the King’s luck of ruling beyond the country had fallen on Swazis, as Mbabane Swallows was currently on a verge to conquer the continent. He then asked the King if he had any words to say to the capital city giants ahead of the fixture.

The King said sports were another vehicle used by countries to strengthen their relationships with others.
“I urge Mbabane Swallows to beat their Algerian counterparts and make the nation proud,” the King said.
However, the King said he was aware that MC Alger would not be an easy team to beat because Algeria had partook in several footballs’ major tournaments, including the World Cup, which Swaziland had not participated in. He said as MC Alger was in the country and Mbabane Swallows would visit Algeria, this would benefit both countries beyond sports as the relationships would be strengthened too.
Furthermore, the King said he wished that the red and white outfit could progress further in the tournaments so that the sporting code could be used to strengthen Swaziland’s relationship with many more other countries.
