BAD OFFICIATING KILLED US - CAVIN

LOBAMBA – Visiting South Africa’s Platinum Stars will certainly take a second look at Mbabane Swallows’ first goal, which they believe was a result of bad refereeing.

It certainly was not offside, according to television replays and the game analysts from SuperSport but coach Cavin Johnson was hopping mad about it.
“Sometimes these games can be like this. I mean it was a good game but bad officiating put us off. It’s bad when officiating spoils the game. That first goal was an offside,” he said in his post-match comments after his troops crashed to a demoralising 4-2 defeat at Somhlolo National Stadium.

“If you understand football you know when officials take you off and put you on in a game otherwise I give credit to Swallows; they won at home,” he continued. He also suggested the artificial turf and size of the pitch had a slight effect.
“We got a nice grass pitch where we can also win the match and it’s quite a bigger pitch,” he said.
He said they would now plan for the next match against Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien, which is a must-win if they  hope to stay in the race for the group’s top two spots to make the Total CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals.
