MBABANE – The OlympiAfrica Sports Centre and Ezulwini Sun Tennis Courts will turn into a battlefield.

This will be during the Steve Hall Junior Tennis tournament to be played on Saturday and Sunday at the two venues. Steve Hall Development Consultants sponsored the tournament to the tune of E15 000 that was presented to Ezulwini Tennis Club coach Jerry Mohamed, by the Director Steve Hall.

The Swaziland National Tennis Association (SNTA) Secretary, Nqaba Mkhaliphi said the tournament was for the Under-14 and Under-18 juniors and only singles would be played. He said already over 20 players have registered.

“Registration of the tournament closes on Thursday (today) at 6pm and the draw will be conducted on Friday (tomorrow) at Ezulwini Sun courts and it is an open draw.  On the day of the tournament, no registration will take place as the players will go straight to the courts,” he said.

Mkhaliphi said those who want to register their children or players must contact coach Mohamed on 7649 3154.
“We would like to thank the Steve Hall Development Consultants for their generosity. It is with such tournaments that we regulate if indeed their children were developing well,” he said.

SNTA gave attention to development since 2016 and last year the association hosted a series of junior’s tournament under the Swaziland Building Society League. To propel development, SNTA also introduced the Junior Initiative Tennis (JTI). Entry fee is E5.
