MBABANE – National team Sihangu Dutch coach Pieter De Jongh is expecting to meet Swazi internationals Felix Badenhorst and Mthunzi ‘Xavi’ Mkhontfo in the next camp.

The national team is expected to begin its second camp, this time for two weeks on May 15, which is next Monday. It has been established that De Jongh has already requested the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) to avail the duo if possible for the camp.

“I’m aware they are in the Champions League with their team AS Vita but still, I’d like to have every player because after this camp, the last one before our game with Niger will be too short a time together and that includes the Swallows players too, who are also in the Confederation Cup,” the coach said on Monday afternoon when asked about the duo.

He confirmed they would start camp next Monday but was uncertain if he would be able to have the duo now or in the final camp before the first Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019 qualifier match.

De Jongh expects to have at least two international friendly matches before Niger early next month and among other countries he recommended Lesotho and Mozambique. However, he was in a position to say which countries they have acquired for the friendlies.

He insisted that there would be a press conference on Friday about the national team’s progress and the media will also get the chance to ask questions as the work continues. National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) Information and Media Officer Muzi Radebe had said on Monday that all national team news will be out on Friday during a press conference so his hands were tied for now.
