‘PATRONS, ELDERS’ BAN A UNANIMOUS DECISION’

MBABANE – Say what you say but the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) is sick and tired of the unrecognised Patrons and Elders’ existence in clubs.

Currently, it is not just the PLS Executive and its Chairman Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze’s decision but Board of Governors who represent their clubs in the organisation approved it last Friday.
“I just want to reiterate the chairman’s words that this was a unanimous decision in which of the 22 Board members we had in the meeting, not one opposed but agreed.

“Fortunately, the FA CEO gave us structures when CAF Club Licensing was introduced and it talks about directors only so we have to comply but social clubs can be part of the team at a distance not in the leadership structure,” Executive Committee Member Advocate Mduduzi ‘Tsotsi’ Mabila said.

He explained that this was not only designed for Mbabane Highlanders, who have a Patrons structure and Manzini Wanderers who have both a Patron and Elders but all the clubs under PLS.
He said as the PLS, they were duty-bound to implement FIFA directives for the FA just like they do for CAF and CAF for FIFA.
