MBABANE – The Swaziland National Sport and Recreation Council (SNSRC) has expressed its gratitude to the entire nation for the successful hosting of the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Executive Meeting.

The AUSC Region 5 consists of 10 member countries, whose delegates spent close to two weeks in the country.
The member countries include Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe
Apart from the executive meeting, which lasted for two days, the country also hosted a number of the AUSC Region 5 sub-committee meetings.

SNSRC Media Officer Dumisani Ntiwane said they were grateful to all their stakeholders for the successful hosting of the meeting.
“On behalf of the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala, the Board of the SNSRC, the SNSRC Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Darius Dlomo and his entire staff, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Swazi nation for the successful hosting of the AUSC Region 5 Executive Meeting.

“We could not have done it without the support and backing of all of our stakeholders including the police service, who ensured that our visitors were safe throughout their stay in the country.

“We would also like to thank our media partners for the wonderful role they played in covering the event and in sensitising the sporting fraternity and the nation on the meeting.

“We are actually indebted to everyone who ensured that the meetings were the success they were and would like to say that we are very grateful for the cooperation we received,” Ntiwane said.
