MANZINI WANDERERS LADIES CROWNED WFA CHAMPS

MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers Ladies team is walking tall after they were crowned Women’s Football League champions 2017.


The maroon and white outfit took home E12 000, floating trophy and gold medals for their achievement. Wanderers finished at the summit of the log with 60 points after winning all their matches in the league.


Runners-up were Young Buffaloes Ladies on 51 points.
National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) President Adam Bomber Mthethwa congratulated the ‘Weslians’ for the achievement.


 “As the NFAS, we would like to congratulate Manzini Wanderers Ladies Team for winning the NFAS Women’s League and also acknowledge the WFA for running the competition smoothly,” he said. Mthethwa said the FA was happy that women’s football in the country is also developing as the standard of play is improving. Lastly, he thanked the support from the media in as far as women football is concerned. Chairman of the WFA Sonnyboy Mabuza congratulated the champions and acknowledged the cooperation of the WFA Executive.


The grand closing held on Monday at the Technical Centre was attended by the NFAS President Mthethwa, WFA Chairman Sonnyboy Mabuza, WFA Executive Member Tom Ndzinisa and Secretary of the Woman Football League (WFL) Hopewell Matsebula just to mention a few.  There were 11 teams that competed in the NFAS sponsored league.
