LOBAMBA – Forget that Mbabane Swallows were long crowned MTN Premier League Champions because against Manzini Wanderers yesterday, pride was at stake.

For the hub giants, it was more than just a game as they are fighting for a top four finish and Moneni Pirates had already won to go to the next level on 32 points.
The tension was evident even before a ball was kicked, with marshals having a mini squabble, then Swallows trainer Siyabonga Bhembe was sent off after a clash with their rivals’ medical team.

Referee Simanga Nhleko did not hesitate to send him off to the stands.
Then inside the field of play it was war between the players as they got physical but the game progressed without serious incidents.
However, Swallows started the match without their CEO Sibusiso Manana, who was rushed to hospital following an illness that appeared to block his breathing under the tunnels.

Nonetheless, they still played like champions as after going down 1-0 two minutes into the match, they maintained their calm and took all the pressure before Captain and left winger Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze scored in the 35th.

It was an end to end game before Swallows equalised, with Wanderers also missing a couple of half chances.
Wanderers had taken the lead through a close range header by Aladeon Kola.
At the start of the second half, Swallows got a penalty, following a handball by central defender Brian Vilane as the red and white ensemble pressed them.
