MBABANE – The trip to Tunisia will dig deeper into Mbabane Swallows coffers as the cheapest the team could pay on tickets would be over E250 000 for a 30-member delegation.

Research from the internet reflected that the cheapest tickets could be sourced from Fly Emirates which is from Johannesburg to Tunisia via Egypt. The cheapest ticket ranges at E7 551 going to E8 500 and the most expensive is at E9 400 per person.

There is no direct flight to the home country of the 2007 CAF Confederations Cup champions. The highest amount they can pay on tickets could be above E300 000 and the figure excludes accommodation which the team should also fork out from its own pocket as per the latest changes in the CAF policy.

The match is slated for the weekend of May 12 to 14.
FA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe said a decision to assist Mbabane Swallows is normally decided by the FA executive committee.

“We have seen the draw and we believe it’s a fair draw, given Swallows recent showing in Africa. We are now confident that they compete against the best. We are also aware that they will need resources for this stage and only the executive committee decides on such issues. We will await their sitting,” he said.

Mbabane Swallows acting CEO Sibusiso Manana said after the draw, the team would sit down and strategise on everything needed to honour their fixtures.
