MBABANE – Relegation-threatened Mbabane Highlanders are out to boost their slim survival hopes against former ‘buddies’ Manzini Wanderers.

Highlanders’ loyalists come to the fixture with ants in their pants as their beloved outfit are in the drop zone with five games to spare. They cannot be restless following the side’s shocking relegation to the football second-tier on May 9, 2013.  Their quest to avoid the chop begins this afternoon against the fellow ‘Big three’ ensemble.

The rest of the fixtures will be against Manzini Sea Birds, Green Mamba, Young Buffaloes and Mbabane Swallows, respectively.
While the hosts hope Manzini Sundowns will do them a favour against fellow strugglers Red Lions in an earlier fixture, the ‘Black Bull’ need all the points to start breathing again. Highlanders and Red Lions are separated by a point. Newly-appointed former Manzini Sundowns gaffer Rodney ‘Stumbo’ Charles will be eager to impress his new employers.

For Wanderers, victory will keep their hopes of finishing in the top three alive. They will be expected to rise above the unrest, which currently dominates newspaper headlines.
There was no winner in the last outing, which ended 1-all. Both sides also had fair share of wins in previous meetings.
