BIG 3 FOR TZD SOCCER LEGENDS CUP

MBABANE – Get ready to feast on top shelf football as the TZD Soccer Legends Cup serves the crème de la crème of yesteryears football stars this winter.

Legends from the country’s top eight clubs in; Mbabane Swallows, Manzini Wanderers, Mbabane Highlanders, Moneni Pirates, Manzini Sundowns, Green Mamba, Royal Leopard and Young Buffaloes will battle it out at the Manzini Sports Centre on the last weekend of June and early July.

The tournament which had already received a sponsorship of E10 000 from Palaistra Gym will see the prize money being donated to a charity that will be chosen by the champions.

In a small launch held yesterday at Lugogo Sun Hotel, graced by the presence of Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David Cruiser Ngcamphalala, Chairman of the Parliament Sports Portfolio Committee MP Frans Dlamini, director of Palaistra Gym Sammy Dlamini and a couple of legends from the various clubs, TZD Sports Management Director, Zakhele Dlamini said the event was part of an effort to assist government in taking care of the needy in the country.

“The event will be played according to the laws of the game, though with flexibility as it is a social tournament coupled with fun and networking. Only players above age of 35 years will be allowed to play and registration will require players to produce ID cards,” he said.
He said winners will receive medals and a trophy.

The prize money will be donated by the winners to a charity of their choice.
