MBABANE – “Matsapha does not scare us, their ‘Van Damme’ success would count for less when we meet them in the quarterfinals.”

These are comments Manzini Sundowns captain Darren ‘Dazza’ Christie made after he learnt of their clash against Matsapha United in the SwaziBank Cup quarterfinals.
“Matsapha United are just an ordinary team to us and we don’t care who they have beaten in the past.

“We have played them in the past and we all know the result, and it will be the same result even this time, it is guaranteed,” said Christie.
He further said they knew how to beat the ‘Van Damme’ slayers, so it would not be a problem beating them and advancing to the next stage.

Asked how the players reacted after the draw, he responded as follows; “The players could not careless who we drew except for Vovovo because they are a closed book to us, all the other teams we could have faced we know how to plan for them. With that said I feel this game will be one to watch since both teams want to advance to the next stage,” he said.

Meanwhile, Matsapha United CEO Victor ‘Mavikana’ Dlamini was quoted as saying the bigger they come the harder they fall.
“The coach knows them since we played them recently, so it will make an interesting game to watch. We are ready for them and we are very optimistic that we will be happy at the end of the match,” said Dlamini.

Matsapha United humbled SwaziBank defending champions  Mbabane Swallows by beating them 2-1 in the last 16 of the  tournament  played recently to advance to the last eight.
They will face Manzini Sundowns to whom they lost 0-1 in the Ingwenyama Cup.

The teams are likely to clash next week when SwaziBank action resumes.
