MBABANE – Close to 400 teachers are expected to enrol in a football, volleyball, netball and basketball coaching workshop.

The three-day workshop, organised by the Swaziland Schools Sports Association (SSSA), starts this morning, end on Friday at Mphophoma Research Centre, Malkerns. SSSA Public Relations Officer (PRO) Victor ‘Mavikane’ Dlamini said the teachers invited are from primary schools, high schools and private schools.

“Registration will start at 9am and we are expecting each school to send a teacher. The workshop will benefit the schools and the pupils as rules of the games will also be provided. There are lot of things that the teachers will benefit as the conductors of the workshop are professionals,” he said.
The National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) Technical Director Bizzah Mkhonta, with the assistance of Anthony Mdluli, will be in football while Zakhele Myeni will officiate in volleyball.

Last week, the SSSA hosted an athletics workshop. He said they were expecting between 350 and 400 teachers in the workshop and it would be residential for the whole duration.
Dlamini announced that the school ball games would start this month in the branches.

“We have 15 branches in the country. This year we are going to do things differently. Almost all the sporting codes will start at the same time. They will start at the branches before moving to regional with the final stage being national competitions,” he said.
