LOBAMBA – Manzini Wanderers lived up to their expectations when they beat minnows Hhohho Super League side 19 Celtics 3-1during SwaziBank #Yelele Cup yesterday at Somhlolo National Stadium.

Goals from Aladeon Kola,Lwazi “Shana” Maziya and debutant Wethu Vilakati transported the hub giants to the last 16 of the 14th edition of the SwaziBank Cup.
Wanderers joins the likes of Mbabane Swallows, Moneni Pirates, Vovovo FC and Mbabane Highlanders to mention but a few in the last 16 stage, whose draw will be conducted today at the SwaziBank Boardroom.
The hosts scored the solitary goal through the boot of Bongani Mabuza.

The game started on a high note with the Nyanga Hlophe lead charges threatening to open the scorers chart in the early minutes. Mfanafuthi “Taribo” Bhembe missed a golden opportunity just four minutes into the game. He failed to connect a curling cross from Kola.

Sifiso Matse could have done better than to fumble the ball over the bar when the game was 16 minutes old.

The red and white ensemble piled pressure on their opponents and eventually the hosts gave in. Kola headed home from Wethu Vilakati high flying cross just four minutes before the break. “Shana” thunderbolt shot from a 40 yards free kick kissed the back of the net three minutes later to make it 2-0 for the Weslians.

After resumption the hub giants made it worse for the hosts and in the 70minutes Under 20 recruit made it 3-0 for the Weslians putting the game out of the minnows’ reach.
However Celtics managed to get a consolation goal just six minutes before he final whistle. Xolani Mnisi benefited from a goal mouth scramble to make it 3-1.
