WET WEATHER FOR ‘TUFF ONE’ RACES

MBABANE – Athletes must brave themselves for the wet weather on Sunday when they compete in the ‘Tuff One’ half marathon race at Zakhele Sports Ground.


According to the weather focus, temperatures will start from 15 up to 19 degrees Celsius with high chances of rainfall.
The 21km and 10km races are billed for Zakhele Sports Ground on Sunday, both races starting at 6am.


Already, over 600 people have registered for the tournament and the deadline for registration closes on Saturday. The athletes will face a challenge in running in wet weather and that must not dampen the spirit as there are techniques of running in wet weather. Golden Foot Athletics Club targets 1 000 runners during the annual race.


Expected to compete in the race include corporate companies, athletics clubs, individuals and athletes from South Africa.
Golden Foot Chairperson Tokky Hou said all was now set for the race and that it is open to all ages, including those over 60 years who are grand masters and they have their prizes as well. She said juniors who would excel would also be awarded.
