AWARD A HUGE HONOUR – NHLANHLA GWEBU

EZULWINI – After conceding only once in the SMVAF Ingwenyama Cup, Young Buffaloes’ goalkeeper Nhlanhla Gwebu has said the Best Goalkeeper Award was a huge honour.

Shortly after he was presented with the award at a spectacular prize presentation ceremony graced by the King, Gwebu was so excited and thrilled to win the award.
“It is a big thing for me to get one in front of my King. Actually, I am so honoured. I know it could have been another goalkeeper but here it is, I’m the chosen one. There are others who deserved it so I’m grateful to win it,” he said.

He said it was not because he was any better than the rest of the goalkeeper he competed with but he personally believed he did well in the tournament, only conceding in the 1-0 loss to eventual champions Mbabane Swallows in the final.
“I also have got good support from my fans, my teammates who made this possible for me and I can’t forget the team’s goalkeeper coach Themba Dlamini for all his contributions,” he added.
Gwebu took home a trophy and a E10 000 cheque.
